Who is InterNIC?

The InterNIC (Network Solutions Inc.) is an independent organization responsible for holding the registration and routing of Internet domain names. Without these people it would be virtually impossible to maintain a sense of sanity on the Internet. Worm-Hole Network registers all new domain names (.com, .net, .org) with InterNIC.

When I activate my account with Domain Web Hosting, who owns the domain name?

You do. When we register your domain name with the InterNIC, we will put you as the administrative and billing contact. Whenever you want to make modifications with your domain name, the administrative or billing contact is always contacted first. Since Domain Web Hosting registers your domain name, we will remain as the technical contact. If for any reason you do not want us as the technical contact, just slip us an email after submitting your account request and we'll oblidge you.

What is the fee regarding InterNIC domain name registration?

New domain names registered after April 1, 1998 cost $70.00 good for the first two years. Each additional year is $35.00 thereafter.
But here at Domain Web Hosting we will register your domain name now for $50.00 for the first 2 years and $25.00 each year thereafter.

Do I have to pay the InterNIC fee?

Yes. Anyone who registers a new domain name with a .com, .net, or .org extension (regardless of what web hosting provider one goes through) MUST pay the InterNIC fee. There is no way around this! Registration fees must be paid at the time of registering.

How can I register foreign domain names (.uk, .se, .ca, etc)?

At this time Domain Web Hosting will only handle InterNIC registrations and transfers for .com, .net, and .org domains. All others please email tech support for information that you will need when registering.

How long does it take for the world to access my domain name?

We, of course, will setup your domain name on our servers within 24 hours. While setting up your site, we will simultaneously register your domain name with the InterNIC. InterNIC takes less than 12 hours to complete new domain name registrations (for the past few months, InterNIC registration has been very swamped, so it's possible for it to take longer). However after this time period, it truly depends on ALL networks and ISPs of the world to update their servers and lookup your new domain name. Some popular dial-up ISPs (i.e. Earthlink, Slip.Net, Sprynet, Grid.Net) take less then 6 hours to update their servers, while others will take more than 2 days. So if you are still using a dial-up connection to the Internet, make sure you have a reliable ISP that promptly updates its DNS servers, so you can access yourdomain.com right away.

What can I expect if I am transferring a domain name to Domain Web Hosting?

Expect an email from InterNIC!

If you have already registered your domain name, or transferring your domain name to us, Domain Web Hosting will send a modification template to InterNIC, and they will in turn send it to the administrative, technical, and billing contact of the domain name involved. Only one person must agree to the email and reply-back to the InterNIC for the transfer to successfully go through.

How do I know if my domain name is still available?

Click here to check the availability of your domain name now. This will search the InterNIC database to see if the desired domain name is available or not.
